Müller Schupfner & Partner strengthens its IP litigation practice in Munich by adding Carsten Schulte as partner

Munich, February 4, 2020 – With Dr Carsten Schulte the law firm Müller Schupfner & Partner is bringing another experienced partner on board. The attorney, who specializes in trademark and patent infringement proceedings, has joined the IP litigation team of the Munich office on February 1, 2021 and will take over the management of the IP litigation practice after a transition period of several weeks. Dr Thomas Huber, who is currently holding this position, will continue his career path at the German Patent and Trademark Office.

Peter Müller. “Thanks to his extensive experience in conducting law suits, he is excellently qualified to lead our litigation team and to give fresh impetus, based on the successful foundations laid by Thomas Huber”.

Carsten Schulte has many years of experience in advising and representing companies in trademark and patent law, especially with international connections. In the United States and Great Britain, for example, he has conducted numerous law suits in various technical areas, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemistry, life sciences and medical technology. Furthermore, he accompanies transactions regarding IP rights and advises on domain law. Carsten Schulte began his career in 2002 as a trademark examiner in the trademark department of the German Patent and Trademark Office and completed a secondment at the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market in Alicante in 2007/2008. Moreover, he worked for 16 years in various international law firms, including Fish & Richardson in Munich, before joining Gowling WLG in 2017 as a partner.

At present, 16 patent attorneys and attorneys-at-law are working at the Munich office of Müller Schupfner & Partner. The litigation team currently comprises six professionals.
