Dr. Michael Groß

Dr. Michael Groß is Of Counsel in our Munich office. He has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of licensing, research and development agreements, and European and German antitrust law. He is particularly well known in the market in his function as head of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft licensing team, which he will continue to exercise. Dr. Groß also acts as a mediator and is registered as an arbitrator with the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the DGRI, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the FICCI Arbitration and Conciliation Tribunal.
Dr. Michael Groß was admitted to the bar in 1984 and worked for a law firm in Münster until 1987, before moving to the Munich office of Andersen Legal (later EY Law - Luther Menold) in 1997. In 2003 he joined Bird & Bird as Of Counsel in addition to his role as Head of the Licensing Team of the Fraunhofer Society.
He is author and co-author of numerous publications in the field of intellectual property and copyright law, e.g. Groß, Der Lizenzvertrag, 11. Auflage, Frankfurt a. In addition, he has lectured at seminars on contract law (research and development contracts, license agreements) since 1991.
